Called Kaishi-ire(懐紙入れ) or Fukusa-basami(袱紗挟み), these are Japanese traditional pouches used at Tea Ceremonies and other formal and casual occasions.

Kaishi(懐紙) are the Japanese equivalent of tissue or napkins, made of Washi(和紙) paper. It serves all purposes a paper napkin would: wipe, place things on, wrapping small items and sometimes taking memos.

Kaishi-ire, directly translating to "Kaishi case/holder" are also not limited to it's name. Other than Kaishi, these pouches can hold small items for ceremonies, and for other traditional and casual occasions.

Shikoukai's Kaishi-ire are also made out of Kodai-gire, just like other Japanese dolls' costumes. But unlike the dolls, you can carry this item with you daily - and enjoy the elegance, dignity, texture and colors of a genuine Kodai-gire.
